Get ready for a special Behind the Mitten this weekend! Not only has BTM now been picked up by SuperTalk 1570 WWCK AM in Flint, but this week’s show was recorded in Flint as well. I’m sensing a theme.
With all the international media and political attention this historical Michigan city has been getting due to the Flint water crisis, Amy and John thought it a worthwhile trip to go down and take a peek at what’s really going on.
They are very excited for this week’s show and plan to be in Flint more often in 2016.
John put it simply when he said, “We’re both so excited to be in Flint. We love the community and its spirit. Amy was here over the summer and was blown away with the Flint Farmer’s Market. And I have loved traveling here over the years on my search for Michigan’s Best for MLive.”
Our dynamic duo will take you behind the scenes of not only the Flint water crisis, but some of the budding local businesses as well. In this week’s show they had the opportunity to interview Robb Klaty, owner of popular Flint restaurant, Table & Tap, which boasts fantastic barbeque as well as a wide selection of Michigan beer, wine and yes, bourbon. Check them out at http://tableandtap.com.
In addition to learning learn more about Flint’s food and beverage scene, John and Amy also sat down with Sloan Museum’s marketing director Cathy Gentry as well as Jake May, one of MLive’s multimedia journalists, for more of an in depth look into the Flint water crisis.
Don’t miss this weeks Flint debut on SuperTalk 1570 at 10 a.m. on Sunday!
Starting next week Behind the Mitten will be on WWCK 1570 AM. at 3 p.m. on Sundays.
This week airing at a special time 6 p.m. SATURDAY on Newsradio WOOD 1300 & 1069 FM.
