GRAND RAPIDS, MI — “Behind the Mitten,” a radio show and podcast created by John Gonzalez of MLive and Amy Sherman of The Great American Brew Trail, has added two new affiliates.
Beginning 4th of July weekend, listeners can now hear the show in Battle Creek (Mix 1049 WBXX) and Kalamazoo (Newstalk 1350 WKMI), as well as on flagship station News radio WOOD 1300 and 106.9 FM.
“We’re excited to bring our show to a broader audience,” Gonzalez said. “To us it’s all about sharing the love we have for Michigan, and maybe introducing fellow Michiganders to events, festivals, restaurants and breweries all around us.”
This weekend’s show takes John and Amy to Hudsonville Ice Cream where they talk to director of product development Ray Sierengowski about a new line of “Natural” flavors.
More on the new flavors on the Hudsvonville Ice Cream Facebook page.
They’ll also go behind the scenes of the National Cherry Festival with executive director Trevor Tkach. The festival runs July 4-11 in Traverse City.
John and Amy also interview “Weird Al” Yankovic, who performs July 5 at the festival. Learn how many times he has performed in Michigan throughout his career.
