Hudsonville, MI- I’ve gotten just a bit behind on my Beer’s of the Week updates, but better late than never, right? So let’s head back to the vault and catch up one beer at a time. September 26th we headed out to Pike 51 Brewing to visit my friend Manda Geiger. Manda is one of the few women brewers in the state, and is a member of Fermenta with me. She’s also one of my very favorite beer drinking gals. She picked our beer of the week for us, and it’s her namesake beer. Mandy’s nickname is PANTS, and this is Manda’s Pants Cream Ale.
PANTS CREAM ALE
5.9% ABV 7.5 IBU
$4.50 | 16oz $12 | Growler Fill
Malts: Pilsner, Flaked Maize, Honey Malt
This beer is super light in both color and flavor. This would be the perfect intro to craft beer. Low in IBU’s, it would be easy drinking. What I love about it is the super creaminess of this beer. It would pair well with almost anything, and would be a great hot day choice. You’ll have to head out to the brewery to get this one, as Pike does not distribute their beers. Located out on Chicago Drive, use your GPS cause it’s easy to miss their building. Once there, they have tons of beer to choose from, as well as wine that they make on site as the Hudsonville Winery. Totally worth the trip, say hi to Manda for me when you go!-Amy Sherman
