Beer enthusiasts can enjoy 30-plus events at the annual Traverse City Beer Week, which this year takes place Nov. 11-17, 2016.

Traverse City Beer Week features a long list of tastings, dinners, games, workshops and lectures devoted to the area’s celebrated craft beer industry — particularly the many microbreweries, brewpubs and craft beer taprooms.

In addition, craft beers from all across Michigan are also featured.

Organized by Traverse City Tourism and several area beer distributors, Beer Week takes place in dozens of restaurants, bars, microbreweries and retail outlets. The object is to educate consumers about craft beers and ales while helping local brewers, restaurants and retailers get used to working more closely together.

Join Amy at Grand Traverse Resort for the annual Great Beerd Run on Nov. 12. The 5K fun run features Short’s Brewery in Bellaire, Beards Brewing Company in Petoskey and Right Brain Brewing in Traverse City. Get signed up at thegreatbeerdrun.com.

John plans to attend some events later in the week, including the North vs. South event on Nov. 17 at GT Resort where Short’s Brewing will battle Atwater Brewing in Detroit with a food-beer tasting.
