There are a handful of fun things to do around the state this weekend! We have the top five things that will get you in the right festive mindset before the craziness of next week ensues.


5. Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker

If you’re in Detroit this weekend the Nutcracker is a no brainer. There will be performances at 3 and 7 p.m., Sunday Dec.20 at the Fox Theatre. You will get to see a Christmas favorite with 40 talented dancers who perform worldwide. Tickets start at $28. More info at http://olympiaentertainment.com.

4. Cirque Dreams Holidaze

Looking for a unique holiday show? This is it! Holidaze brings together 30 performers in 20 acts from 12 countries to give you something between a Broadway musical and a Holiday spectacular. If all of this great entertainment isn’t your thing, you can go just to see the costumes. There will be 300 of them!  Performances are through Saturday at The Wharton Center in East Lansing Tickets start at $35. More info athttp://whartoncenter.com

3. Jim Brickmam ( Pianist)

Brickman is bringing his “Comfort and Joy” holiday tour to Kalamazoo this weekend. He will be performing classic Christmas songs and collaborations. Anne Cochran and Tracy Silverman will be joining the Adult Contemporary star on stage at the State Theater in Kalamazoo on Sunday at 3 p.m. Tickets start at $36. More info at http://kazoostate.com

2. Jackie Evancho

“The America’s Got Talent” star will be at The Silver Creek Event Center at Four Winds Casino in New Buffalo tonight (Dec. 18). You will recognize the now 15 year old for her big voice that shocked judges and viewers around the world. Show time is 9 p.m. Info at http://fourwindscasino.com.

1. Brewery Vivant’s 5- year anniversary

There’s no better way to celebrate the brewery’s 5-year anniversary and beer in the Belgian tradition than a big party! The celebration begins at noon on Sunday (Dec.20) and will include a fabulous special menu, music, and of course, a number of Wood-Aged Beers on tap as well as Vivant’s release of their first Barrel-Aged Ale in bottles.
