Cherry Festival’s Trevor Tkach to lead Traverse City Tourism

TRAVERSE CITY, MI — In case you missed the news, Trevor Tkach — a Traverse City native and former executive director of the National Cherry Festival — was named the new President/CEO of Traverse City Tourism.

He replaces Brad VanDommelen, who left the bureau a few months ago to become the director of the Virginia Beach Convention and Visitors Bureau.

According to media reports, Tkach will continue working for the National Cherry Festival through September, before stepping down as Executive Director.

“Working for the National Cherry Festival as its executive director has been an honor and a privilege,” he told UpNorthLive.com. “I’m excited to be able to continue my work celebrating and promoting Northern Michigan in my new role as president of Traverse City Tourism.”

“Behind the Mitten” interviewed Trevor during the recent National Cherry Festival.
